Life Care Services Ranked Highest in Customer Satisfaction by J.D. Power

Our management company, Life Care Services®, An LCS® Company, ranked highest in customer satisfaction with independent living senior living communities two years in a row — and we have you to thank for it. This award demonstrates that residents and their families are receiving the care and service they absolutely deserve.

The award for Highest in Customer Satisfaction among Independent Living Senior Living Communities encompasses six individual resident-experience factors. We’re excited to say that, not only did Life Care Services win the overall category, but it also ranked highest within each of the six factors:

  • Resident activities
  • Community staff
  • Price paid for services received
  • Resident apartment/living unit
  • Community building and grounds
  • Dining

Nelson notes this year’s award is especially meaningful given the unique circumstances of the pandemic. “I’d like to recognize the heroic efforts of our community staff who serve residents each and every day. Their diligence and perseverance provides residents with the best senior living experience possible,” says Nelson.

Life Care Services ranked highest in independent living resident overall satisfaction with a score of 855 in the J.D. Power 2020 U.S. Senior Living Satisfaction Study. The study is based on responses from 4,992 residents, or their decision-maker, living in an independent, assisted-living or memory care community within the previous three years.

COVID Update: Fall and Winter Celebrations

Dear Bayshore Hilton Head community,

As we begin to plan for fall and winter celebrations, Bayshore Hilton Head has established precautionary measures to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19 and help keep residents and employees safe. We realize the upcoming weeks are traditionally a time of family gatherings and special events, yet the health and safety of our employees and residents remain our top priority. 

Our community continues to follow the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local health authorities. We also encourage our employees, residents and their families to follow the additional protocols provided for fall and winter celebrations:

  • When possible, host events outdoors instead of indoors.
  • Limit the number of invited guests.
  • Follow social distancing guidelines.
  • Encourage guests to bring their own face mask, hand sanitizer and other supplies.

Of special importance, if you are planning in-person holiday gatherings with people outside of your household, consider asking all guests to strictly avoid contact with people outside of their households for 14 days before the gathering. This will help reduce the risk of exposure.

We realize these are challenging times and appreciate your consideration of these protocols to help keep our residents and their families safe and healthy.

Priority Access to COVID-19 Vaccine

Bayshore Hilton Head residents will be among the first in the country to have free access to the COVID-19 vaccine once it is available. Bayshore Hilton Head is partnering with CVS/Walgreens to provide priority access to the vaccine to residents in all care levels – independent living, assisted living and memory care – all free of charge

Vaccinations will be carefully administered by a licensed professional within the community, offering the peace of mind that comes with not having to venture out in public to receive the immunization.

Life Care Services communities such as ours are dedicated to mitigating the spread of COVID-19. We continue to put residents first by utilizing enhanced infection and disease control protocols, while still providing exceptional experiences for our residents.

Bayshore Hilton Head Earns “Low Country’s Best” Honor from The Island Packet Readers

Bayshore Hilton Head is pleased to announce that it has earned the honor of “Low Country’s Best” in two categories for 2020 from The Island Packet.

Bayshore was named “Low Country’s Best” for Independent Retirement Community and Assisted Living Community.

The process to select the winners began with an open write-in nomination round, followed by a voting round consisting of the Top 5 recipients of nominees in each category. The winners are those that received the most votes in each category.

Long Term Planning – When to Start and What to Consider

But according to a survey from The Conversation Project, while ninety percent of Americans say that talking to loved ones about end-of-life care is important, only twenty-seven percent have actually done it. Indeed – no one likes to think about not being able to live the way they want, but the reality is, people who take the time to make a long-term plan are less likely to die in a hospital or burden relatives with tough medical decisions. In the end, while starting discussion of  long term care planning may be difficult, the relief you’ll feel when it’s finished will free you up to enjoy the years ahead.

COVID-19 Update

As the nation continues to navigate the challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, Bayshore Hilton Head has prioritized the health and well-being of our residents and team members.

With the support of our management company, Life Care Services, we have expanded our infection and disease prevention protocols based upon the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention guidance for long-term care communities. This includes enhanced cleaning protocols, screening and restrictions for visitors and new residents, social distancing practices and increased training for team members.

And through it all, we have focused on providing the experiences Life Care Services communities are known for. We remain dedicated to serving our seniors, first and foremost.

We recognize the big moments.
Big moments deserve to be recognized, no matter what’s going on outside our doors. That’s why we’re taking time to celebrate the big moments in residents’ lives, like birthdays and anniversaries. While a virtual party can’t replace an in-person gathering, it does remind residents that we can always find ways to celebrate positive moments during this time.

We honor daily routines.
We know residents miss the little moments in the day that bring people together, like morning coffee or cocktail hour. Coffee deliveries and socially distant cocktail carts are just two of the many ways our community ensures residents still get to enjoy these routine-but important-activities.

We appreciate each other’s company.
It’s hard to be apart from friends and family, but technology has given us dozens of ways to turn life’s moments into virtual experiences. We recognize the activities residents typically look forward to and are turning them into virtual or socially-distanced events, providing the opportunity for meaningful connections daily.

We encourage physical and mental wellness.
Staying active – both physically and mentally – is essential to emotional well-being. From streaming exercise classes to setting up reading or pen-pal programs with local school children, we are dedicated to helping our residents stay active and connected. 

Rest assured, at Bayshore Hilton Head, Experience is Everything. We remain inspired by the many ways our community team ensures residents feel connected and cared for as we all learn to adjust to this “new normal.”

Community Reopening Update: 

Bayshore Hilton Head will continue to work in partnership with Life Care Services as well as local, state and federal government agencies to prioritize the safety of our residents. Our dining venues are now open for socially-distanced dine-in opportunities. We continue to provide engaging opportunities and activities for our residents. We welcome the opportunity to provide virtual visits to those wanting to connect with a loved one or view more about life at our community.
